We offer car clips or J hook accessory straps to use if you don't have a luggage rack. To check your vehicle's compatibility, open your car doors and look for a ledge along the roof line. Most (but not all) vehicles have a ledge. Sometimes it's a rain gutter or maybe it's located under the weather molding. The J part of the hook is approximately as big as the end of your finger. When you tighten the straps over the top carrier bag, the tension pulls the top carrier against the roof of the vehicle and pulls the clips up which holds them in place when the straps are made secure. The carrier bag must be packed full and tight so gear, cargo or luggage doesn't shift and loosen the straps while traveling. Always test this set up before you begin your trip, and at every stop check the clips and straps to be sure they remain tight.
